ResinDek® Field Installation Support Update
As you may know Bob Lancaster became part of our organization in February of this year. Since that time, Bob has been very busy in the field assisting customers with ResinDek® installations.
In fact, since he started with us, he has visited a total of 24 different jobsites, including a major installation in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he spent 10 weeks as a paid Field Support Engineer with a long-term Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products client.
The client was extremely pleased with the on-site Installation Support that Bob provided. “Cornerstone was very effective for us last year, but even better in 2011. The biggest reason for that improvement was Bob’s onsite presence at our jobsite. We feel that the on-site supervision provided by Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products was an extremely good value, and we plan to utilize this service on all major projects in the future,” stated one Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products customer.
Bob’s on-site support services include:
• On-site installation
• Training
• Daily CAD drawing updates detailing installation progress
• Reprints and drawing details for particularly challenging construction areas
• Assistance with on-site supplies and inventory
When not providing support at a jobsite, Bob is back in the office busy doing layouts, takeoffs, and project estimates for future projects.
Call us if you need assistance in any of these areas!
Been There, Done That
This title seems fitting since all ResinDek® Diamond Seal® finishes have included anti-static protection
for some time now.
At Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products we believe in addressing Industry issues promptly, and then sometimes we forget to tell the rest of the world what we have implemented and why.
For roughly 2 years now all ResinDek® Clear and Gray Diamond Seal® finishes have included anti-static protection to prevent personnel shocks.
Most deck surfaces, including older ResinDek® Diamond Seal® finishes are insulators by nature. Because of this fact, we found a small percentage of our project installers & employees experiencing occasional static shocks, especially during the drier winter months.
This is a common problem with several surfaces and not unique to ResinDek® flooring panels, however what is unique is how quickly Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products addressed it.
We developed an additive for our ResinDek® Diamond Seal® finish, and for the past 2 years we have included this anti-static protection to more than 12 million square feet of ResinDek® Gray and Clear Diamond Seal® panels. This additive has virtually eliminated the issue of personnel shocks on Diamond Seal® finish ResinDek® mezzanine floors.
However, don’t confuse this free anti-static protection with our ESD (electrostatic dissipative finish), which provides far greater protection for more than personnel.
While it takes 3,000 volts of static electricity for people to experience a shock, it only takes 100 volts to potentially short-out electrically sensitive devices such as laptops, barcode scanners, servo-drive motors, and pick-to-light systems. Unlike the free anti-static protection applied to all Gray and Clear Diamond Seal® ResinDek® panels, the ESD finish is fully compliant with ANSI ESD Standards, and is available from Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products for an additional charge.
So if you are just looking to eliminate personnel shocks – Great News, you will receive Free Anti-Static Protection automatically whenever you order ResinDek® with Gray or Clear Diamond Seal®.
If you need certified ANSI/ESD compliant ESD protection, please specify “ResinDek® with ESD” in order to make sure you receive it on your next project.
If you have questions regarding this topic, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

While at those meetings, Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products decided to join the E.A.S.E. Council.
E.A.S.E. stands for Ergonomic Assistance Systems and Equipment, and is an Industry Group under MHIA.

“We understand that ergonomics plays an increasing role in the selection of equipment at Distribution Centers globally,” said Greg Doppler, President of Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products, LLC.
“As this workforce ages, and the cost of lost time injuries skyrocket, forward thinking companies are looking for ways to create healthier, more productive workplace environments for their employees. At Cornerstone Specialty Wood Products we intend to listen, learn and contribute when and where we can to this growing concern," continued Mr. Doppler.
